Team Leader: Wataru Nishie,
The 2nd Lab has been tackling various research
themes, including research on bullous dermatosis.
Last year, Dr. Hideyuki Ujiie returned from his studies
in the U.S. Dr. Ujiie energetically started his studies
on autoimmune bullous dermatosis together with Dr.
Hiroaki Iwata. There are three staff doctors in the 2nd
Lab in addition to me: Dr. Ujiie, Dr. Iwata and Dr. Ken
Natsuga, who’s been pursuing research on microbial
flora and basement membrane proteins. Let me talk
about the graduate course students, who’ve been playing
major roles in the lab. Last year, Dr. Erina Homma
started research on lymphoma under the guidance of
Dr. Iwata. She’s been working hard every day. I look
forward to her research results. Dr. Mika Watanabe
has been widely researching the microbial flora of the
skin and type XVII collagen under the guidance of Dr.
Natsuga. I look forward to seeing her wrapping up her
experiments and putting together the large volumes
of results. Dental Dr. Mayumi Wada, who researched
bullous dermatosis and basement membrane proteins
under my guidance, graduated from the Ph.D. course.
Drs. Machiko Nishimura, Ellen Toyonaga and Kentaro
Izumi have been hard at work on clinical and research
activities. I’m looking forward to seeing them writing
many papers. The paper by Dr. Reine Moriuchi was
accepted, and he’ll be graduating soon.
This spring,Drs. Ken Muramatsu and Yu Fujimura started researching
under the guidance of Drs. Ujiie and Natsuga. I
hope they’ll discover
the delights of research.
The lab is supported
by three lab techs:
